Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: September 11, 2026 Last updated: September 11, 2026
This policy is part of the Terms of Service of NEXTAPP LABS S.R.L., operator of Halfbill. It applies to everything sent through the Halfbill API, Halfbill Chat and any application you build on them.
1. Prohibited uses
You may not use the Service to:
- Break the law or help someone else break it, including infringing intellectual property, privacy or data protection rights.
- Generate or distribute child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that sexualizes minors in any form.
- Produce content that incites or facilitates violence, terrorism or self-harm, or that constitutes harassment, threats or hate speech targeting individuals or protected groups.
- Develop, plan or assist with weapons capable of mass casualties (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear), or with attacks on critical infrastructure.
- Create malware, conduct unauthorized access or denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise compromise systems, accounts or networks that are not yours.
- Run fraud, scams, phishing, spam, fake reviews, or other deceptive schemes, including impersonating people or organizations without disclosure.
- Deploy automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects on individuals (credit, employment, housing, insurance, law enforcement) without meaningful human review.
- Provide medical, legal or financial advice to end users as if from a licensed professional, without appropriate disclaimers and review.
- Build or feed surveillance, tracking or profiling systems targeting individuals without their knowledge, including facial recognition of private persons.
- Generate political campaign content at scale, or election misinformation.
- Circumvent rate limits, spend limits, model restrictions or safety systems, share one account or key across unrelated organizations to evade limits, or resell raw access to the Service without our written agreement.
- Extract model weights, or use Output to train a model that competes with the upstream model, where the vendor's terms prohibit it.
2. Vendor usage policies
Output is generated by third-party models. The usage policies of the vendor whose model you call apply to your use of that model's Output in addition to this policy. Halfbill is an independent service and is not affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic; their policies are published on their own websites and may be more restrictive than this list. Where an upstream vendor requires us to stop serving a use case, we will.
3. Your responsibilities as a developer
- Disclose to your end users that they are interacting with an AI system where the law or context requires it.
- Do not present Output as human-authored where that would mislead.
- Keep your API keys secret and set spend limits. Usage made with your keys is your usage.
- If your application accepts content from the public, implement moderation appropriate to the risk.
- Do not send personal data you have no lawful basis to process, and do not send special categories of data unless your application requires it.
4. Enforcement
We monitor request metadata (not content by default) for patterns that indicate abuse: unusual volume, automated key rotation, repeated safety refusals. Where we have a credible report or clear indication of a violation we may rate-limit, suspend a key, suspend an account or terminate the agreement, and we may preserve and disclose information where required by law. Where reasonable we notify you first and give you a chance to respond. Refunds for suspended accounts are handled under the Refund Policy.
5. Reporting
Report abuse of the Service, or content you believe violates this policy, to legal@halfbill.uk. Include request ids or URLs where possible.
